Question
Lately we are struggling with our 5 year old. It feels like there are many issues and it’s hard to know where to start. When we tell him it’s time to clean up, he’ll say “I’m tired” or will move so slowly that he basically does nothing to help. He doesn’t know how to/want to play by himself in his room and always needs someone with him in order to play with his toys. The same is true for getting dressed/changing into pajamas. He always wants someone to help him or be with him upstairs or he won’t do it. He also has many outbursts during the day- mainly related to sibling fights with his 7 year old sister. It’s hard to know how to handle the outbursts since they happen so quickly since he is so angry and out of control. Also I will add this is mainly his temperament at home- he seems to have no trouble with other adults or peers like this.
