Question

I have a 4-year-old who has been having sleeping problems which started about 4 months ago, out of the blue. He had been a good sleeper prior. He decided he was scared at night and didn't want to sleep in his room alone. We tried everything, cry it out (he'll cry for hours), sooth him, nightlights, taking things away, etc. At first, I didn't believe he was truly scared, but now I'm not so sure. He wakes up every night now crying, between 10:30 and 12, and many times it is hysterical screaming. He also has gotten out of bed to "sleepwalk" a bit in his room and just outside his room, crying the whole time. Seems like "night terrors" to me, so I think he really is scared of something. We refuse to let him get in bed with us, so he sleeps on our floor with a blanket. It's getting old and we'd like him to sleep in his room. Advice?
